Wolters Kluwer Health today announced the launch of Lippincott® CoursePoint+ Faculty Assistant, powered by Expert AI, and the expansion of Nursing Tutor Usage Insights. Nurse educators can save time and reduce administrative burdens by using Faculty Assistant to quickly generate teaching materials such as case studies, learning activities, and quiz questions that are evidence-based and aligned with their curricula. Nursing Tutor Usage Insights helps educators track students’ AI query trends in the Expert AI-powered Nursing Tutor.
“There is a lot of attention on how students are using AI, but what matters just as much is giving nurse educators the AI tools they can trust to support learning and prepare students for practice,” Julie Stegman, Vice President, Wolters Kluwer Health Learning & Practice commented. “From the ground up, we built Faculty Assistant on our evidence-based Lippincott content – leveraging best practices from nursing educators to ensure that content is trusted and based on real nursing school experiences. Mixing this with Nursing Tutor Usage Insights provides educators with an enhanced view of their programs to empower student success.”
Both tools are now included in the Lippincott CoursePoint+ platform, which has supported more than 1 million students. Lippincott’s digital curriculum solution provides nursing schools with end-to-end access to trusted educational content and videos, adaptive learning tools, virtual simulation experiences, and nursing clinical decision support.
An Expert AI assistant that “gets” nursing faculty needs
With Lippincott CoursePoint+ Faculty Assistant, nurse educators can tap generative AI (GenAI) to boost productivity and strengthen their overall instruction with the confidence of using a trusted and evidence-based solution designed for their specific needs. To avoid workflow disruptions, Faculty Assistant is integrated directly within the CoursePoint+ platform. Designed to equip nursing faculty with high-quality teaching materials including NCLEX-style multiple-choice questions with answers and rationales, case studies, explanations of complex topics and classroom learning activities, the Faculty Assistant helps faculty save time and focus more on students, all within a unified resource.
“As nurse educators, we’re constantly juggling expanding workloads and competing demands on our time. Many of us have looked to standalone AI tools, but often find they lack the precision and depth needed for nursing education,” said Rachel Seady, DNP, FNP-C, Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Alabama in Huntsville College of Nursing. “An exciting aspect of an integrated AI tool within a product suite is that it offers a better solution than standalone offerings. AI is a powerful resource that augments our efforts and frees us to focus on those influential moments that truly shape our students’ learning and professional growth, preparing them to become exceptional nurses.”
Understanding how nursing students learn with AI
More and more students are using Lippincott CoursePoint+ Nursing Tutor, the chatbot powered by Expert AI to specifically help nursing students. In fact, students asked over 275,000 queries in a recent one-month period. Nursing Tutor Usage Insights will serve to help nursing faculty better understand the role the AI tutor plays in learning. Faculty get a dashboard view of key datapoints illustrating student usage of Nursing Tutor including most asked topics, challenging chapters and areas, course and student-level data, as well as overall usage trends.
